We are basketball players from over 25 different school districts…yet we are a family.

About the Clash...

The Central Ohio Clash is a non-profit AAU basketball organization based out of Marion, Ohio for boys and girls in grades 5-11.  We will focus on fundamentals and individual skill development while playing a competitive schedule.
The Clash is the basketball home for young men and women who want to play as a team, work hard to improve their skills, and have fun!  We want this to be a great experience where memories are made and friendships are developed which last a lifetime.

Coach Bollinger was been an assistant coach for six seasons at Ohio Wesleyan University.  He has also had coaching stints at Bluffton Univeristy and Piedmont College. Coach B helped lead OWU to three NCAA Tournament appearances, coached two first team and a second team All-American, three North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Year recipients and 21 all-conference selections. The Battling Bishops won the 2013 NCAC Tournament Championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.  The Bishops were ranked as high as 6th in the country in 2014-15 and won the NCAC regular season league title by two games.  However, the Bishops were eliminated in first weekend of play in the NCAA Tournament.  It marked the fourth consecutive year the Battling Bishops have made the NCAA Tournament field.
Prior to joining the collegiate coaching ranks, Bollinger served as the head boys basketball coach at River Valley High School in Marion for
eight seasons.  He guided River Valley to the school's only "Sweet 16" appearance in the last 41 seasons.  He led the Vikings to a district title, a district runner-up, four sectional crowns, and two league titles during his tenure and the Vikings were also ranked in the top five in Ohio in several polls.  Bollinger received multiple honors during his time at River Valley. He was named the Associated Press Ohio Coach of the Year on one occasion and selected as the Associated Press Central District and the Ohio High School Coaches Association District 11 Coach of the Year on two occasions. Bollinger was named the inaugural winner of the Mid Ohio Athletic Conference Coach of the Year Award and was also chosen to coach in the Ohio North-South All-Star game.

Letter to Parents

Thank you for your interest in the Central Ohio Clash AAU club.  It is my goal and will be the goal of the club to put the interests of the players first. We are fortunate to have outstanding coaches, including current and former college players, involved in this organization.  We also have former and current Varsity coaches, assistant coaches, middle school coaches, etc. coaching with our teams.  They are outstanding teachers of the game and outstanding people.  I can't stress enough that all our coaches and the people involved in the Clash are here for one reason - the kids.  We are a non-profit organization and are not here to make money off of you or your child.  Our fees are bare bones to cover expenses and nothing more.  Our entire coaching staff, including the directors of this program, are all volunteers.  We can't say enough thanks for the commitment and dedication they have made to the basketball players in our organization.  I give all the credit to the our assistant directors, coaches, parents, and players - they are the strength of this organization!  I don't think you will find a more supportive and positive group of people than we have in our organization.

At all ages, the focus will be on skill development.  No matter the maturity level of a young person in 4th grade through high school, fundamentals and skill development are vital to being a successful high school and college player.  I see young men all the time who mature early and are successful because they are bigger than everyone else.  By the time they get to high school, they struggle to get to play if they do not continue to work on their skills.  Conversely, I see many “late bloomers” who are very skilled and explode on the scene once they mature and catch up to the others physically.  I see players who continue to be the same player they were the year before.  They play AAU or travel ball but wonder why they are not getting better.  The answer is they have not actually worked at the game to develop their skills.  Skill development is the most vital component of a young player and will be our focus!
While our high school teams will have the opportunity to play against outstanding talent and in front of college coaches, we make no false promises or guarantees about your son receiving an athletic scholarship.  I will promise you we are going to do everything we can to make our players better and to put them in front of college coaches who will evaluate them.  I will gladly, truthfully, send information and talk to other college coaches.  I have an abundance of college coaches I know and trust and will use those resources for the young people in our organization.
Lastly and most importantly, we want players who are not driven by the ”look at me” syndrome.  We want young men who want to play as a team, enjoy playing together, and who want to work to improve their skills while also having fun!  We want this to be a great experience for your child and your family where memories are made and friendships are developed which will last a lifetime.  We are truly the "CLASH FAMILY!"
Please feel free to email me at centralohioclash@outlook.com if you have any questions.
