17U goes 3-0 in pool play at Nationals - falls to eventual Final 4 team in tournament play.

The Clash Black went to the GRBA Nationals and went 3-0 with three impressive wins in pool play.  Playing in the top bracket, the Clash led for most of the game before falling to a team that went on to make the Final 4 of the National Tournament.  Congratulations to the Clash Black and all our teams on another amazing season.   There are great things ahead for our organization and the young men and women who play for the Clash!

17U Clash Black Makes the Elite 8 at the All-Ohio Nike Super Sixteen Tournament
After finishing second in their 4 team pool, with their only loss coming by 12 to All-Ohio Red, the Clash Black team defeated Greenwood Elite from Michigan by 13 before falling in the quarterfinals to the Toledo RoughRiders by four points.  It was a great showing as the "Clash family" continues to gain respect throughout the state.

Clash Claims Two Championships at Bluffton and One at Sylvania
Mother's Day proved to be good to the Clash again this year as the 6th Grade Black, 9th Grade Black and 11th Grade Black all took home championships.    The  Clash Silver (10/11th) placed 3rd in the tournament and the 10/11th Green made the Elite 8 and were defeated in the first game of the tournament, in overtime, by the Clash Black team.

Two Championships and a Runner-Up Finish at the Tyger Classic.

The sixth grade teams and the 10/11th grade Clash teams headed to Mansfield for the 13th annual Tyger Classic. Three teams won their pool play and two others finished second. On Sunday, the only team to beat any of our teams were other Clash teams.

The sixth grade black defeated the Clash silver on their way to winning the sixth grade championship. The 10/11th grade black defeated the silver in the first round of the tournament before later defeating the Clash green in the championship game. Our high school teams made up 3/8ths of the championship bracket!  Improvement never stops! ‪ #‎Clashfamily‬

King James, Pickerington Classic, and War at the Orr!
The high school teams made their way to Akron for the King James Classic - taking on teams from around the U.S. and Canada in one of the premier events on the AAU circuit.   The five Clash teams combined for seven wins on the weekend. The 17U Black team placed 2nd in their pool, defeating a team from Tennessee and another from Michigan.  The Black lost in pool play to the eventual overall runner-up - WeR1 from the state of Delaware.  In the silver bracket tournament, the Black lost to eventual tournament runner-up Nova Village from Columbus.  The 17U Silver lost several close games before getting hot in tournament play, winning to straight before falling in the Copper Bracket championship.  The 16U Green won their first tournament game over a team from Maryland and the 16U White topped a Canadian team Saturday afternoon in pool play.  The 15U freshmen team defeated a team from Ontario, Canada.  They also lost their first game of the weekend to the eventual overall champion, North Georgia Elite.  It was a great effort by our players and teams - especially the 16U and 17U teams who played most of the weekend with 5 or 6 players only - as we were missing players this weekend due to proms, injuries, etc.

At the Pickerington Classic, the sixth grade Black won the Shootout Bracket while the 6th Grade Silver placed second in their pool.  At the War at the Orr in Orrville, the 8th Grade Clash girls went 1-2 in pool play before falling in tournament action.

The 6th grade teams and 10/11 teams will all be in action at the Mansfield Tygers Basketball Challenge this upcoming weekend.  All the other teams have a weekend off.

9th Black Wins the Clash of Champions Tournament Championship
Playing at "home", the 9th Grade Black defeated the Mansfield Tygers on a basket with two seconds remaining to capture the 1st annual Clash of Champions tournament championship.  The Tygers had not lost on the season and had beaten the Clash by 17 in pool play earlier in the day.  The other Clash teams in grades 6-9 competed hard and came up just short in several games, including a triple overtime loss.  The 6th Grade Black lost in the semi-finals by one point to the Extreme Heat who went on to win the championship by over 20 points.  On the girls side, the ladies played really well on Sunday to capture the Shootout Championship at the 9th Annual Top 10 Classic in Reynoldsburg.  Next stops:  Orrville for the girls, Pickeringon for boys in grades 6-8 and King James Tournament in Akron for our high school boys teams.  Go Clash!  #ClashFamily

The Clash Rolls in Bean City
Lima proved to be a great host as the Clash teams rolled into the Bean City and emerged with the overall title in the 24 team 10th/11th grade division and a third place overall finish in the 6th grade division.  The 9th Grade Black and 10th/11th Grade Silver teams each won three consecutive games on Sunday to win the Shootout Championships in their respective divisions.  The 10th/11th Green also won both games Saturday to win their pool and advance into the Elite 8 of the tournament.  The 6th Grade Silver and 7th Grade teams also put up impressive victories on Saturday.  With a tough week due to weather conditions and a lack of gym space, it was encouraging to see our teams fare so well.  The 10/11th teams are now off until the King James Tournament in Akron the weekend of April 24-26 where they will face some of the best teams in the nation.  The 6th through 9th grade teams will be playing "at home" as we host our own tournament this weekend at River Valley High School and River Valley Middle School.  Improvement Never Stops!  #ClashFamily

2015 Starts With a Title
The 2015 Season started out with a bang as the U17 Clash Black went 5-0 and won the 18 team OYB State Championships in Hilliard.  The Clash won their first two games 85-29 and 75-69 to advance into tournament play.  The first tournament game was a tight one as the Clash led by double digits before holding on to win by 3. The semifinal game proved to be the highlight of the weekend as the Black squad dominated defensively in beating previously undefeated Team Hype 69-28.  The championship game saw the Black take the title with a 61-48 win over Team Flight.  The weekend was similar to the 2014 OYB State tournament as our U17 Silver team advanced to Elite 8 in 2015, just as they did a year ago.  The 8th grade girls Clash team won their pool on Saturday, going 2-0 and before falling in the semi-finals of the tournament on Sunday to claim a 3rd place finish. Congratulations to the Clash Silver freshmen who played well on Sunday to advance into the Shootout semifinals before falling in that game.  We are elated at the individual and collective improvement of our teams and look for continued improvement as we move forward.  Go Clash!  #ClashFamily
